The family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Aji Ida Susan Njie, who returned to her Creator on November 30th, 2025, in the United States. She was the devoted wife of the late Alhaji Alieu Jarga Njie.
This sad news is respectfully extended to the late family of William Jammeh of 12 Kent Street, Banjul, and to the Ceesay Kunda family of the late Ya Mburu Njie of Latri-Kunda, as well as family in Norway, the UK, and the Senegal region.
Born on December 13th, 1951, Ida lived a life rooted in compassion, dignity, and unwavering faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and guiding light whose gentle spirit touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her two brothers, Alhaji Muhammed Pottin of the United Kingdom, Alhaji Momodou Bandeh of Norway, her beloved daughter Nancy Njie, and her cherished sons Jarga and Mass Njie — her eight precious grandchildren: Ida Wescott, Jibril Wescott, Asyiah Njie, Kadijah Njie, Nancy Maryam Njie, Fatima Njie, Alieu Njie, and Musa Njie.
She was predeceased by her two older brothers: Dodou Njie and William Njie.
She held each of them close to her heart and remembered them in her daily prayers.
Ida will be remembered for her strength, generosity, warmth, and her unshakeable faith in Allah. Her life was a blessing to her family and community, and her legacy of love, patience, and compassion will continue to live on through all those she leaves behind.
May Allah have mercy on her beautiful soul, forgive her shortcomings, illuminate her grave, and grant her the highest ranks of Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
