Claire Beauregard Obituary

SEEKONK- Claire L. Beauregard died on Sunday September 3, 2023. Born in Seekonk and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Imelda Goudreau.  She was the wife for 44 years to Normand P. Beauregard.

Claire was devoted to helping her church, first at the former St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro, Ma. She was the recipient of the Diocesan Marian Medal for devoted service to her parish.  She then became a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Seekonk where she continued her ministry as a lector and assisting with various committees.

Claire worked in business administration for several large corporations throughout her working career.

An accomplished actress, Claire performed with many local community theater groups. But her greatest focus was with the Community Players in Pawtucket RI. She received the Best Actress Award in state competition for her lead role in “ Ladyhouse Blues”.  She served several terms as President of the group and held various other positions on its Board of Governors. She also served as a Trustee and Community Liaison for 30 years addressing civic groups about The Players and coordinating fundraisers. Claire also represented The Players on the Executive Board of the Pawtucket Arts Council.  Claire continued to perform live theater with the Players including her last performance when she was 88 years old in the female lead for “Love Letters”.   

She is survived by her son Edward and wife Amy (Paquette) and their daughters Janel Hillard (Brad) and daughter Charlotte, and Renee Loffredo (Matthew); her daughter Ann, husband Mark Young, and daughter Emma and son Samuel (Elizabeth); her son Paul, wife Sharon (Damon) and children Rebecca and Jonathan; her brothers Paul, Albert and wife Dorothy, David and wife Catherine, her sisters Marie Trudel and Rita George, and Bernadette Ribeiro and husband Edward. She was predeceased by beloved brothers George, Richard and Joseph and dear sisters Jeanne Paine and Therese Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Seekonk, MA on Saturday September 9, 2023 at 10AM.  Burial will follow in St Stephen’s Cemetery, Attleboro. 

Calling hours will be Friday September 8, 2023 from 4 PM until 7PM at the DARLINGTON MORTUARY of L. HEROUX & SON, Pawtucket RI.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society c/o Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church,385 Central Ave, Seekonk MA 02771.
