Edward "Uncle Steve" Steven Jenkins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edward Steven Jenkins, who was lovingly known as “Steve’’ “Steven” or “Uncle Steve”. Steve passed on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, peacefully at home. He was 65 years old.

Steve was born on September 13, 1959, to Edward L. Jenkins and Joyce G. (Durhm) Jenkins at Kings County Hospital Brooklyn, NY. Steve attended Boys & Girls High School (Brooklyn NY). He served in the United States Army. Steve was a retired security guard. He attended The Beacon Ave Church of God (Providence RI).

Steve was preceded in death by his parents (Edward and Joyce Jenkins); brother’s Leonard and Derrick Jenkins; sister Yvette (aka Atiyah) Zlahn; and daughter Latisha Smith. He is survived by daughters Sakinah Branch & Shatisha Smith-Haywood; grandchildren Steven, Jana’, Tylon, Deidre, Isaiah, Marcus Jr, Zyaire, Jayden, Dakarai, Josiah, Le’Auhne and Aswan; great-grandchildren Leilani, Jasiah, Jaylen, Elias, & Marcus III; sisters Sheila (aka Sakinah) Jenkins and Pandora (aka Pam) Jenkins; many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews; Godchildren (Gilbert (aka Kiro) and Nassiah); as well as other family and friends who he loved dearly.

A special acknowledgment to his CNA (Melissa) who took good care of Steve.

 Steve will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
