Our lives were forever changed on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, when our beloved son Eli Asher Sousa, of North Providence, RI, went to be with the Lord. We could say so many things about our dear little boy, but one exceptional quality was that he was quick to welcome everyone and make everyone around him feel loved. He loved playing with his big brother, and they could be found many days practicing for their “rock band.” He loved Peppa Pig and would constantly greet people using Peppa Pig characters so others could guess which character he was today. He loved sending Alexa announcements, letting everyone know he loved him, or just watching the emojis on the TV when they were announced. He was brilliant and loved reading books, cards, and anything he could. He loved spending time at Hand in Hand preschool, where his loving teachers cared greatly for him.
Eli’s favorite day of the week was Sunday, and he was always excited to go and spend time at church. He loved worship and sometimes got physically upset when it was done. He felt the love of every congregation member and loved to give everyone a hug or a high five. His love for the Lord was evident even at his young age.
Eli loved his family most of all. He leaves behind his parents, Sarah and Dennis Sousa, and his amazing big brother, Liam Sousa. In addition, Eli is survived by loving grandparents who live with us, Edgar and Linda Fortin. He also loved to visit his grandparents in Stoughton, MA, Zelia and Dinis Sousa. Furthermore, he was also loved beyond measure by his aunts, Heather Fortin (Cranston, RI) and Maura Bohara and her husband, T.J. Bohara (Stoughton, MA). Eli loved playing with his cousins Dyllan Paull, Niko Bohara, and many more. Many other aunts, cousins, and friends also loved him.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 9th, from 4 -7 pm at Bethany Church of the Nazarene, 1275 Pawtucket Ave, Rumford, RI 02916. In place of flowers, please consider contributing to the family’s GoFundMe account, which can be found at https://gofund.me/b158d2af
