Elsie L. Jennings Williamson

Mrs. Elsie L. Williamson,100, passed away on February 10, 2025, at her home in Providence, Rhode Island surrounded by her loving family. 

This remarkable woman was born in Tiverton, Rhode Island on February 23, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Addison Wilmington Tapscott and the late Sarah V. Tapscott.  Elsie was the wife of the late Amos R. Williamson. 

She retired from the Providence school dept. at the age of 82 years old.  Elsie was the oldest member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, which she attended every Sunday.  She was loved by many people enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her daughters: Donna Lee. Jennings and Linda Jean (Jennings) Gobern. Elsie's legacy will continue with her remaining 12 children: Wilbur W. Jennings (wife Aridi Jennings), Elsie L. Jennings, Sarah V. Gomes (husband Richard Gomes), Sandra M. Jennings, Alice E. Chin (husband Kung-foo Chin), Rayeanne Fortes, John G. Jennings, Denise E. Jennings, Ronald A. Jennings, Beatrice L. Souza (husband Kenneth H. Souza), Cheryl A. Jennings and Janine P. Jennings.  She also has 30 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 59 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
