Evangeline Delves

Evangeline Delves, 85 yrs old, of Providence RI, passed away on Dec 16, 2025.

Born on August 22, 1940, in South Kingstown RI, Evangeline was the beloved daughter of the late Reginald and Pearl Hazard.  She was known for her fashion sense and sharp tongue. Evangeline was a woman of respect, love, and integrity. 

Evangeline worked as head of the laundry department at the Bannister House nursing home located in Providence RI and later on a daycare mother to many who sit around you today. Outside of work, she enjoyed being around family, bowling, dancing and watching her Celtics play. 

She is survived by her two daughters Debra and Damita Delves, 2 siblings Lorenzo Hazard and Caroline Perry, her 10 grandkids, and 18 great grandkids. She is preceded in death by her late husband Kenneth Rodney Delves Sr, her son Kenneth Rodney Delves Jr. and her 7 siblings Mason, Reginald, Richard, Robert, Blessing, Rachael, and Priscilla. 

Her celebration of life service will be held on Monday December 29th, 2025, at Hood-Shaw Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church located at 148 Wadsworth St Providence RI. Viewing will be from 9:00am-10:30am, followed by the services from 10:30-12:00. The burial will be at riverside cemetery in Wakefield RI. 

 Evangeline's love and memory will live on in the hearts of all who love and knew her.
