Fernando (Fred) Rebello 93, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday October 21st at Hope Hospice Care in Providence.
Born on November 21, 1930 in Hartford CT. he was the son of the late Manuel and Herminia (Loureiro) Rebello.
He lived most of his life in Pawtucket before moving to Providence about 30 years ago. He was a graduate of St. Raphael Academy after which he entered the U.S. Airforce, serving during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in June of 1955. He graduated from Indiana Technical College with a dual major in Physics and Mathematics and went into the field of computer programing.
Fred is survived by his sister Theresa Monuteaux of Fort Lauderdale FL. Nephews John Fonseca (Catherine) of Hope Valley, Dennis Fonseca (Marie) of Amelia Island FL, Alberto (Al) Nunes (Gail) of Pawtucket, Donna Nunes of Yorktown VA, Emidio Rebelo and Albano Rebelo (Annette) of East Providence, Madalena (Maddie) Josephs (John) of Rumford, Edward Monuteaux of Sarasota, FL, Jennifer Monuteaux (Alfonso) of Ft. Lauderdale FL, and Donna Wilkinson (Michael) of Acushnet, MA, 21 Great nephews and nieces, and 11 Great-Great nephews and nieces. He was pre deceased by his siblings Maria C. Fonseca and her husband Joseph, Antonio Rebelo and his wife Maria do Carmo, Odocea Nunes and her husband Armindo, Terezinha Rebelo and his nephew Fernando (Fred) Nunes.
His Funeral will begin on Wednesday October 30th from the DARLINGTON MORTUARY of L. HEROUX & SON, 1042 Newport Ave. Pawtucket, RI with visitation from 9:00-10:00am. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church, 32 Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket, RI, at 10:30am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery where he will be buried with his parents.
