Henri Richard Obituary

Henri A. Richard, 88, of Seekonk, MA, died peacefully on September 1, 2024. He was the husband of the late Therese C. "Terry" (Goudreau) Richard and the late Margaret "Margo" (McCarthy) Richard.

Henri owned and operated H. Richard Home Improvement for many years until his retirement. Earlier in his career, he worked for RCA as a television field technician and for Raytheon as a technician and later a supervisor. He also co-owned and operated Computer Interfacing Systems in the early 1980s.

A veteran of the armed forces, Henri proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1962.

Henri was a man of many passions, enjoying saltwater fishing from his youth through his later years, first with his brother and later with his son-in-law. He spent much of his life working on and restoring classic cars, a hobby that remained with him until the end. In his earlier years, he was a member and treasurer of the "Country Squires Hot Rod Club," and in the 1980s, he sang in a barbershop quartet with close friends and took great joy in traveling to the Pocono Mountains with his late wife Terry.

After retiring to Florida with his late wife Margo, Henri busied himself as the unofficial handyman of his retirement community, driving around in his golf cart full of tools. He also loved playing bocce with Margo, enjoyed building 3D models, and continued to share his skills and good humor with everyone around him.

He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church and a former communicant of St. Stephen’s Church in Attleboro, where he sang in the choir.

Henri leaves his loving children: Constance J. Kollett and her husband Dennis of Riverside, Annette S. Duffy of Seekonk, Yvette B. Hinton and her husband Wayne of Seekonk, and Robert A. Richard and his wife Alyssa of Seekonk. He was the stepfather of Maureen Lachapelle and her husband Mike of Seekonk. Cherished grandfather of Lauren Kollett, Edward Kollett, Sean Duffy, Elizabeth Pesce, Megan Hinton, Kathryn McLintock, Michael Hinton, Samuel Richard, Therese "Tessa" Richard, and great-grandfather of Leonardo Pesce and Luca Pesce.
