Janice Springthorpe

Janice Springthorpe (84), of Lincoln passed away peacefully at home on December 17th, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Alec and Hilda Springthorpe and sister to the late Robert Springthorpe. She leaves behind a sister-in-law Nancy Springthorpe, of Viera, Florida and a niece, Heidi Springthorpe, of Lincoln, as well as many cousins. 

Janice was a graduate of East Providence High School and the University of Rhode Island, where she earned her nursing degree. She had a fulfilling career with the VNA of Rhode Island for over 50 years. She was a kind and loving person with a servant's heart. Thoughtful, caring, and generous, she would always put others ahead of herself. She would work holidays to allow other staff to see their family. She sent cards for every occasion to all  family and friends. Jan remembered every birthday and anniversary. 

Janice was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Pawtucket. She volunteered her time most Sundays to assist the organist and ring the chimes for many years. Jan was also a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, where she served as a Worthy Advisor. She had a great sense of humor, loved to meet the girls for a bite to eat, and always enjoyed the theater. She kept in touch with family and friends all over the country, and always thoughtful of her neighbors, leaving those Sweenor chocolates on doorsteps. Janice always acted with grace and dignity. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 50 Park Place, Pawtucket, RI. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that you make a donation in her name to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
