Joseph P. Pheanis

Joseph Paul Pheanis, 73 of Lakeville died on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, after a sudden and brief battle with cancer. 

  Joe was born in Quincy, MA, son of the late Joseph Leo Desmarais, Donald G. Pheanis and Beverly E. (Libbey) Pheanis. He attended Hudson High School and studied Chemical Engineering at Northeastern University. He was employed with the Polaroid Corporation for 29 years as a Technical Specialist; designing and developing film and digital imaging before retiring in 2001.

  Joe had an enormous love for music, particularly, the Beatles. Throughout his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, reading, and the company of his beloved cat Sandy. He particularly enjoyed drinking coffee with dear friends and family on the front porch.

  He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer B. (Pheanis) Flynn of Bristol, RI; a son, Chad J. Pheanis of Carver, MA; a brother, Donald L. Pheanis of Weare, NH; a sister, Susan E. Pheanis of Middleboro, MA; Three nieces, Michele (Pheanis) Baez of Yonkers, NY, Jessica Pheanis of Weare, NH, Katherine Pheanis of Manchester, NH; Three adored grandchildren, Olivia, Nolan and Delaney Flynn of Bristol, RI; a great nephew, Lucian Pheanis of Weare, NH; and a great niece, Lily Pheanis of Weare, NH.

A memorial service in celebration of Joe's life will be held in early Summer.
