Michael Jermaine Ploettner

Michael Jermaine Ploettner of Providence, R.I. has unexpectedly passed away on Sunday September 29, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital.

Born, educated and raised in Providence, RI., he was the son of the late Carol Ploettner and James Gadson, Sr.

While his time on this earth was cut short, Michael made a huge impact on all those who knew and loved him.  To his family, friends, co-workers and girlfriend, he was the type to chat with anyone, especially about things that interest him.  Mike loved to play and listen to old school hip-hop, film funny you-tube videos, D.J. music as well as take his stepson Luis to car shows.  He loved to travel to new places, work on cars, but his biggest love was to take care of his beloved Cutlas.  He worked at Champion Services in Warwick for 26 years and IGUS for the past 6 months.

Michael is survived by four brothers: Jermaine, James Gadson, Jr., Kahlil Awwabb all of Providence. Charles Gadson of PA. Eight sisters: Janice Rezendes of Texas, Debra Hargis, Joann and Audra Gadson, Bonita and Mary Davis all of Providence.  Kathy Phillips and Patricia Gadson of NY City.  He also leaves behind his companion of 14 years Waleska Cortijo and two stepchildren Luis and Nicole Cortijo.  Tre'quan Armstrong, who he was also a father figure to as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
