Rita N. Kane (Pestana)

Rita N. Kane (Pestana), 69, was born to the late Marta Duarte and late Antonio Pestana on February 2, 1955. She died peacefully on December 10, 2024, with both her son Joseph Cosca and her daughter Rosemarie O'Brien beside her.

Along with her son and daughter Rita leaves behind another daughter in FL, Sheila Caballero and her grandchildren Julianna Cherry, Maya and Diego Caballero, Brooklynn and Blake Pinheiro, and Savannah Cosca. She is also survived by her brother and sisters.

Born in St. Miguel, Portugal, Rita moved to RI with her family when she was in middle school. Rita was a very independent woman, who got her driver's license and a job at 18 years old after being very sheltered as a child in Portugal. Rita was a beautiful woman inside and out, a woman with a heart of gold and enjoyed her last job at the Dollar Tree in East Providence as a cashier until she became ill with a lung disease.

Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Rita's incredible smile will be missed by all she came in contact with.
