Rose D. Ousley, 99, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at Oak Hill Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late James G. Ousley. Born and raised in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Pierre Wilfred Dalpe and Elizabeth A. (Benoit) Dalpe.
Rose dedicated 15 years to the State of Rhode Island school system as a food service professional before retiring in 1987. She was a devoted communicant of Our Lady of Consolation Church.
She is survived by her loving children, Edward Velzis of Pawtucket, Richard Velzis of Pawtucket, and Sandra Howarth of Aynor, SC. She was the mother of the late Linda L. Velzis, Kenneth Velzis, Ronald Velzis, and James W. Ousley. Rose leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William Dalpe, Arthur Dalpe, Flora Emery, and Loretta Sicard.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Darlington Mortuary, Pawtucket, RI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Consolation Church, Sabin Street, Pawtucket, RI. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
