William Cruz

Our family mourns the loss of William Cruz, 75, best known to friends and family as "Willie", passed away on June 21, 2024, in Providence, RI. surrounded by his loving family members.

Born on October 2, 1948, in Cabo Rojos, Puerto Rico he was the son of William Cruz and Irene Rivera Suarez.

He spent his early years in Brooklyn, New Yok, he returned back to Puerto Rico and eventually made his home in Pawtucket, RI with the love of his life Nancy.

William was a devoted loving husband to Nancy for 58 years.  They married in 1966 and later had three children William Jr., Irene and Jamaira.

He took great pride in being a parent especially participating in all of his kids' activities.  William was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor, Christian but most importantly man.

William enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and building countless memories including wrestling.  He was an active member in his church.  Christian values formed every aspect of his life and molded him into the beloved person he was.

Wiiliam Sr. was preceded in death by his mother Irene, his father William, his son William Jr. His brothers: Herman Cruz, Henry Cruz and Elpie Cruz who he will meet in Heaven.

He is survived by: His wife Nancy Cruz, his daughters: Irene Salazar and Jamaira Cruz. Grandchildren: William Cruz IV, Wilmarie Cruz, Joshua Farmer, Jafet Salazar, Samaira Farmer and Daniel Salazar. Brothers: Harry Cruz, Georgie Suarez and William Suarez Jr. Sisters: Matilde Rodriguez and Nelly Suarez.  Who knew William would be waiting for them in the afterlife. 

All who loved Willie will have an opportunity to gather and share memories of happy times spent with him.
